Local residents won’t have to plan so far in advance to get rid of old paint cans and other hazardous materials.

The annual Household Hazardous Waste Day program, run by the municipality and Waste Connections Canada, is being expanded.

Four drop-off dates were held last year, and this year the program is being expanded to eight with one drop-off day a month from April through November.

Items like batteries, pool chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and more can be taken to Veolia Environmental Services on Prosperity Way in the Bloomfield Business Park.
