Raising of the Survivors Flag at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre.

On the eve of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a special walk is being held in Wallaceburg this morning.

A healing walk and gathering will begin at the Wallaceburg branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library on James Street at 10:30, and end at Civic Square Park.

This event is being hosted by Chatham-Kent’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Team in partnership with Walpole Island First Nation Employment and Training.

Those taking part are invited to wear orange to show your support for reconciliation efforts and help heal, nurture hope and reconciliation.
