Health Alliance Board: One Year Later

CKHA CEO Lori Marshall and Board Chair Greg Aarssen.

It’s been almost a year since the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance moved to a single board structure.

The hospital’s tri-board was dissolved under former supervisor Rob Devitt in 2016, with the new single-tier board members announced in February 2018.

Chair Greg Aarssen says it’s been a year of change and growth.

“A year ago we were coming together as a new board in a new organization and there was some trepidation but it was very exciting and people were exctied about what the opportunity was in front of them. This board has really come together understands what the job is and what the mission is and that’s to make sure we’re staying between the rails,” says Aarssen. “More important than that, is our patient standards and patient care. The health of the organization, both the building, staff and patients has improved dramatically over the last year.”

Aarssen says focusing on patient care and safety while maintaining a strong fiscal approach to the business of running the hospital.
