A funding boost for some local health care agencies.

The province has announced 4.4 million dollars to support upgrades and repairs to several hospitals and community health facilities in southwestern Ontario.

Just over $364,431 from the province’s Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund will support the Westover Treatment Centre with another $103,505 for Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres.

Over $3.7-million from the Health Care Infrastructure Renewal Fund will support upgrades to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, while $264,957 will be put towards a multi-year project at Four Counties Health Services in Newbury to improve the hospital’s air quality systems.

“Ensuring Ontario’s hospitals and community health facilities have the infrastructure in place to deliver the high-quality care patients expect and deserve is a priority for our government,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. “This year’s increased funding will help these facilities address priority renewal needs while ensuring people can continue to receive the world-class care they need in a safe and comfortable environment.”
