A group of advocates will be discussing health care reforms at a series of meetings in the area over the next week.
Shirley Roebuck with the local chapter of the Ontario Health Coalition says the Ford Government’s “People’s Health Care Act” is troubling.
“All three of the local coalitions in this area are extremely worried about the lack of transparency and the actual secretly behind developing this bill,” Roebuck says. “We feel it’s going to drastically change the way health care is delivered.”
Roebuck says there should be public consultations before any changes are made, and local residents need to pressure their MPPs to make that happen.
A town hall is being held in the Redline Room at Thames Campus Arena starting at 7 tonight.
A similar event is being held in Sarnia on Saturday morning at the Legion on Front Street, and a third slated for Wallaceburg next Thursday evening at the Legion.
