
A Chatham dollar store and two Tilbury grocery stores are the latest locations to be exposed to the measles virus.
Chatham-Kent Public Health said local residents may have been exposed to the measles if they attended the Thames-Lea Plaza Dollarama at 603 Grand Ave. W. in Chatham on April 12 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Those who attended the No Frills at 59 Mill St. E. in Tilbury between 5:30 and 8:30 the evening of April 14th may also have been exposed to the virus.
Health officials also reported two exposures at Foodland at 15 Queen St. S in Tilbury on April 8 and 12 between 6:45 a.m. and 6 p.m..
Anyone who was present during these timeframes and is not up-to-date with their vaccinations is urged to call CK Public Health at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902.
Between October 18, 2024 and April 9, 2025, the health unit has reported 90 confirmed measles cases in Chatham-Kent. Just over half of those cases were reported within the first week of April.
