Local health advocates will be speaking out about privatization of health care this weekend.
Wallaceburg-Walpole Island Health Coalition chair Shirley Roebuck says they will be holding an information picket at Fountain Park this Saturday.
“The protection of the Canada Health Act which guarantees access to publicly funded health care is extremely important to people,” says Roebuck. “And we just don’t want to see it chipped away and harmed by services provided privately which will allow people to skip the queue.”
Following the Coalition’s theme “We Can’t Bear to Lose Medicare” a seven-foot teddy bear will be available for photos, starting at 10 o’clock that day.
