It’s going to be a hot, steamy couple of days in Chatham-Kent. A heat warning is in effect with temperatures today and tomorrow expected to be in the low 30s and humidex levels near 40.

Residents are reminded to do what they can to keep cool.

Symptoms of heat-related illness may include: rapid breathing, dizziness or fainting, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, extreme thirst, among other things.

Anyone experiencing these symptoms is urged to move to a shaded or air conditioned area, drink plenty of fluids, and rest. Contact your health care practitioner, a friend and/or a family member.

Cooler weather is expected to move in Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
