It’s going to be another sweltering day around Chatham-Kent.

Hot, humid conditions are expected to continue today with temperatures in the low 30s and humidex levels into the 40s.

Environment Canada says a cold front is expected to move across southern Ontario tonight, providing some relief.

In the meantime, residents are reminded that extreme heat can be dangerous for young children, pregnant women, older adults, and those with chronic illnesses.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place; seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building; and never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
