The heat wave blanketing southwestern Ontario will drag on for a few more days yet. 

In what Environment Canada calls “the most significant heat event in the past few years,” temperatures will continue in the low-to-mid 30s through Thursday, with humidex levels into the 40s.

A cool down is expected by Friday with the passage of a cold front.

Meantime, a reminder about the dangers of extreme heat, with young kids, pregnant women, older adults, and those with chronic illnesses most at risk for heat illness.

Officials say you should keep an eye out for symptoms, including swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, and the worsening of some health conditions.

Never leave pets or people inside a parked vehicle.
