An active police situation in Chatham has been resolved peacefully.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service issued a warning Wednesday morning about an active investigation with a heavy police presence in the area of Sheldon Street and Cornhill Street.
The public was urged to stay away while police were at the scene.
Shortly before 9:30 a.m., authorities announced that an individual involved in the incident had been taken into custody safely and the situation had been resolved.
