A winter storm watch has been issued for Chatham-Kent ahead of expected heavy snowfall this week.
Environment Canada said between 20 cm to 30 cm of snow is forecast to fall between Wednesday and Friday. As well, winds gusts are expected to reach 50-70 km/h, which will likely cause reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations,” the weather agency said in a news release. “Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.”
The snow is expected to taper off by Friday morning.
