To help survive in the past year, Chatham-Kent council granted some temporary measures to local restaurants.

That includes allowed restaurants to temporarily extend outdoor patio spaces, as well as working with restaurants to develop patios on private property and on the municipal right-of-way in order to maintain appropriate social distancing.

During tonight’s council meeting council will look at extending those guidelines for patios for 2021.

Without an extension, the patio guidelines are set to expire in the next couple of weeks.
