High winds, freezing rain, and strong waves pounded the shoreline over the weekend, causing damage to a number of properties in Erieau and Rondeau.

Councillor Karen Herman says most of those living along Lake Erie experienced some level of flooding, and believes municipal officials should find out what kind of help they may need with the clean-up.

“What it is that they went through, what is it they need, is there help they need,” Herman says. “I know that we were there and the province was there for support when our Thames River catastrophe happened, and I think there may be a need as well for our Lake Erie residents.”

Herman is asking municipal administration to seek potential funding from the province.
