Conservation officials continue to keep close tabs on area water ways.

The Lower Thames Valley  Conservation Authority says levels on Lake Erie and Lake St Clair remain well above average, about the same as they were this time last year, and any sustained winds will cause flooding, erosion, and further shoreline damage.

Officials say before the lakes freeze over, residents need to be careful with icy conditions from wave spray and any potential flood waters.
