Stay clear of the shorelines around the region for the next couple of days.
The high winds and high water could cause serious issues around the area.
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch/warning for Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair.
Environment Canada has issued a gale warning calling for high winds.
The prediction calls for sustained winds of 60-70 km/ph gusting close to 100 km/ph.
Waves are expected to reach 3-5 meters in Lake Erie and 2.5 meters in Lake St. Clair.
There is currently flooding along Erie Shore Drive in Chatham-Kent.
There is water on many properties and around some of the homes.
Floodwaters have made it onto the roadway in several locations.
All non-essential traffic should avoid the area to ensure that municipal staff and/or emergency services can access the area if required.
The watch is in effect until Tuesday.
