High Winds Cause Flooding, Power Outages Across CK

Hydro One outage map, as of 6am on November 16, 2020.

With flooding along the Lake Erie and Lake St Clair shorelines, conservation officials are urging area residents not to let their guard down.

Toppled trees and branches caused damage to several buildings, power lines were snapped in half, and waves pounded the shorelines along both Lake Erie and Lake St Clair yesterday, causing flooding, primarily on Erie Shore Drive and the Mitchell’s Bay area.

Environment Canada’s wind warning has since ended, but a flood warnings from both the St Clair Region and Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authorities remain in effect until tomorrow.

A number of residents across Chatham-Ken remain without power this morning, Hydro One says crews continue to work on getting all service restored.
