Registration is now open for an annual fundraiser in support of end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent.
The 10th annual Hike for Hospice will take place on May 3 at Mud Creek Trail in Chatham, honouring a decade of care at the Chatham-Kent Hospice.
Ahead of the event, participants are encouraged to collect and track pledges using the online system or a paper form. This year’s event hopes to raise $160,000, with all funds supporting providing compassionate residential hospice care at no cost to families in the Chatham-Kent community.
“Hike for Hospice is a meaningful way to remember loved ones who have passed and honour them by paying it forward to other families in Chatham-Kent,” said Rebecca Smyth, a Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation board member, in a news release.
The event kicks off with pre-hike activities at noon, including live music, memorial activities, lawn games, and more. The hike itself will begin at 2 p.m.
