Hike For Hospice Returns For Eighth Year

Local residents are being asked to lace up their running shoes this spring to support end of life care in Chatham-Kent.

The eighth annual Hike for Hospice event will take place on May 5 at Mud Creek Trail in Chatham, with all proceeds going to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation to ensure families can continue to access compassionate end-of-life care at no cost.

Pre-hike activities will get underway at noon and will include live music, memorial activities, lawn games, kid’s activities and more.

Before hitting the trail, participants are asked gather pledges hike the Mud Creek Trail during the event on May 5, or at their convenience between April 29 and May 4. Hikers may also submit pledges online and participate remotely.

The fundraising goal for this year’s event is $140,000.
