Chatham-Kent’s animal shelter is getting a financial boost with the first-ever Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.

Between November 13-19, the funds raised through the purchase of holiday cookies at Tim Hortons restaurants in Chatham, Wallaceburg and Dresden will be donated to Pet and Wildlife Rescue.

The holiday campaign is a spin on the annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign, with a white-chocolate sugar cookie that has red and green sprinkles baked into it.

While PAWR has a contract with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent to provide animal control services and bylaw enforcement, it is also a registered charity.

The organization’s charitable programs include finding suitable homes for surrendered or abandoned pets through fostering and adoption, providing temporary animal care to local pet owners in distress, operating a pet food bank, and assisting orphaned or injured wildlife through a team of volunteers.
