The 6th annual Holidays With A Hero program was another big hit on Saturday.

Members of Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services, Chatham-Kent EMS, Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent OPP, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, and Ontario Parks all worked together to help some children have a great Christmas.

The purpose is to foster positive relationships between law enforcement officials in uniform and children.

Saturday morning 95 kids from across the municipality between the ages of 6-12 gathered at Walmart and were given gift cards to buy presents for immediate family members.

They were paired up with a local hero as their own personal shopper.

After shopping they were taken to the Bradley Centre for breakfast with Santa, while elves wrapped their presents.

The gift cards were purchased through donations from local individuals, businesses and organizations.
