Nominations are being accepted for this year’s Senior Achievement Awards.

Each year, the municipality honours those 55 and older who have made significant contributions to the community.

Since its inception, the senior awards have recognized more than 1000 people around Chatham-Kent.

“Chatham-Kent is a close-knit community,” says Mayor Darrin Canniff. “Everyone knows someone who has lent a helping hand, whether it be as part of a group or as an individual. Here is your chance to let us know about that person so we can acknowledge their contributions.”

Nomination forms can be found at any municipal service centre and online through the CK Senior Awards and Age Friendly CK Facebook pages. You can also CLICK HERE to download a form.

This year’s Senior Expo was cancelled because of the pandemic, but the Senior of the Year will be announced at the October 4th council meeting.

The deadline for nominations is August 13th.
