Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the OPP.
Provincial police have been searching for evidence for years into allegations of wrong doing by the mayor in regards to the sale of the St. Clair College Capitol Theatre Annex in Chatham.
“First of all I’m glad it’s done. Second, I knew I did nothing wrong so I’m glad it’s completed,” says Hope.”It’s just the length of time it took was disturbing. Now it’s over and done with and let’s move forward.”
Back in 2013 Ian McLarty leveled a number of allegations against the mayor; incompetence, dereliction of duty and possible criminal activity among senior municipal staff and the mayor.
