Staff and patients at Chatham-Kent’s hospital were without water for several hours on Tuesday.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance declared a “Code Grey” at the Chatham site in the afternoon after the municipality shut down the hospital’s water supply while conducting work in the area.
A “Code Grey” is called when there is a loss of a critical system that may pose a health and safety risk to those in the hospital.
Several measures were put in place to ensure a safe water supply including procuring bottled water for drinking and installing signage.
The water supply was restored shortly after 5:30 p.m.
