It’s becoming a common theme in southwestern Ontario this summer.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Chatham-Kent with daytime high temperatures of 31 to 33 degrees Celsius with humidex values near 40 are expected for the next five days. Overnight lows near 21 degrees Celsius will provide little relief from the heat.
Slightly cooler temperatures are expected on Saturday.
Officials with the weather agency also warn that hot, humid air can bring deteriorating air quality.
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Symptoms of heat illnessĀ include dizziness, fainting and nausea.
