House Struck in Early Morning Crash

Charges have been laid after a car collided with a house in Chatham.

Emergency crews responded to Tissiman Avenue just before 12:30 this morning and say vehicle struck the house then drove across the lawn.

Officers say the driver was showing signs of intoxication and the accused was arrested and taken to police headquarters for tests.

The 47-year-old is charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit and was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
