Police have ruled out foul play after human remains were discovered in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called after the remains of a man were located in the area of Bloomfield Road and Richmond Street.
The body was taken to the London Health Sciences Centre for a forensic autopsy where the man was identified. The man’s next of kin has been notified and police will not be releasing his identity out of respect for the family.
Foul play is not suspected, police said, and there is no concern for public safety.
It was the second report of remains being found that day – earlier this week authorities confirmed a body had been pulled from the Thames River in Dover Township on Friday as well.
