Officials with Whyte’s Foods are overwhelmed with the response to this week’s two-day job fair in Wallaceburg.
VP of Sales, Claude Briere says over 500 people handed in their resumes this week.
“Already today we have second round interviews with some people we asked to come back with this kind of volume full team of people there but it was going very fast so some people have been asked to come back today and there will be some more in the next few days for second round interviews,” says Briere. “We have two potential dates for starting end of July or early August for food service production line. This fall in October the retail line or the glass line when you see the jar at the grocery chain, that’s what we call the retail line and it will be open this fall.”
Briere says they plan to hire around 40 staff to start with more jobs coming available when the facility reach full production next year.
