An arrest has been made after four aluminum hydro poles were stolen from the Entegrus compound on Queen Street in Chatham.
The break-in and theft took pace early Tuesday morning. Police were alerted a few hours later when someone called in a tip about a suspicious man cutting metal pipes outside an Edgar Street home.
The 33-year-old is now facing several charges, including break and enter and being in possession of property obtained by crime.
The suspect has also been charged with failing to comply with release conditions not only for breaking a court-imposed curfew, but also going to the Entegrus property.
Damage to the fence is estimated at $400, while the value of the theft is roughly $8800.
