Hydro One wants to raise its electricity distribution rates next near, but will need Ontario Energy Board approval to go ahead.
A public meeting was held in Leamington two weeks ago, but MPP Rick Nicholls said it was poorly attended – perhaps because it was poorly advertised.
Hydro One wants to increase rates by roughly $2.50 per month next year for the average consumer, and then by another couple of dollars every year for the next five years.
The public is allowed to attend two upcoming meetings to share their concerns – one in Dryden and one in Sudbury, however no other meetings are scheduled in southwestern Ontario.
