More child care spaces are coming to the Lambton-Kent District School Board.
The Ministry of Education has announced a $2.1 million investment to add three new rooms and 49 child care spaces to Indian Creek Road Public School in Chatham.
“We greatly appreciate the investment of the Government of Ontario to support local families through a new child care addition at Indian Creek Road Public School,” says LKDSB Chair Jane Bryce. “The Lambton Kent District School Board and community partners will continue to work together to support families with their child care needs and facilitate a successful transition to school.”
Right now, before and after school care is being offered by the YMCA.
“The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is very pleased to be continuing our partnership with the Lambton Kent District School Board in a new Child Care Centre located at Indian Creek Road Public School,” says Jo-elle Rinker, Vice President, and Children’s Educational Services of the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. “Partnerships like this greatly enable us to achieve our mission of building healthy communities.”
The Lambton Kent District School Board will be working with the Ministry of Education and the YMCA to finalize a plan and timelines for construction.
