Drug charges have been laid after a vehicle was found stopped in an intersection just outside Blenheim.

Just before 3 o’clock this morning, police spotted the vehicle at the corner of Middle Line and Charing Cross Road, stopped partway through the intersection even though the light was green.

Suspecting the driver may have been under the influence of drugs, police took the 31-year-old to headquarters for tests.

The man was also found carrying some suspected fentanyl.

The accused is charged with impaired driving, drug possession, and driving while suspended.
