A local man has been charged after a vehicle struck a light pole in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the collision on Fifth Street just before 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The driver was asked to provide a breath sample at the scene, which registered a fail. He was then arrested and taken to police headquarters for further testing.
As a result, a 32-year-old Chatham man is now charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released with a July court date.
