A Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges.

Authorities were alerted by a passing motorist about a potentially impaired man getting into a vehicle at the Circle K Convenience on McNaughton Avenue West shortly after 2:30 Tuesday morning.

An officer found the suspect vehicle parked sideways across two spots and spoke with the driver. The accused was then taken to police headquarters for breath tests.

The 43-year-old has now been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
