Emergency crews have been called to Imperial Oil in Sarnia this morning.
The company says it is responding to a light release of hydrocarbon at the plant, although no other details about the situation have been released.
There is no shelter-in-place at this point and authorities are asking residents to avoid the area.
Police briefly blocked off Vidal Street between Clifford Street and Kenny Street as a precaution, but that stretch has since been reopened.
