As Chatham-Kent’s tourism industry emerges from the pandemic, local officials are looking for the public’s input on the sector’s future.

An online survey has been launched as part of an overall Visitor Information, Navigation, and Wayfinding Strategy to increase awareness and attendance at local tourist attractions and experiences, and better engage visitors as they move through the community. Officials with the Community Attraction & Promotion – Tourism department say that could include visitor information centres, signage, brochures, digital content, among other things.

“This navigation and wayfinding strategy is an exciting and long anticipated initiative,” says Shannon Prince, Chair of the CK Tourism Stakeholder Advisory Council. “We are so fortunate to have unique and diverse tourism assets across Chatham-Kent and this strategy will not only highlight each community but help visitors travel more easily across CK to experience what we have.”

Mellor Murray Consulting along with Stempski Kelly Associates and Neumarkets Inc. have been hired to conduct the strategy and implementation plan.

All completed surveys will be entered into a draw to win a $25 gift card from one of Chatham-Kent’s Safe Travels Stamp operators.
