Indigenous Artwork Featured on Face Masks

A thoughtful and thought-provoking gift for students of the St Clair Catholic District School Board.

Three-ply face masks featuring authentic Indigenous artwork have been distributed to elementary students in the English Catholic Board.

Some of the masks were presented to the board by Steve Tooshkenig, a member of the Bkejwanong Territory and Tyson Wesley, owner of IndigenousFaceMasks.ca. The board purchased more masks to hand out as well.

“We are honoured by this generous gift,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education.  “Through the artistic images imprinted on them, the masks are beautiful expression of Indigenous culture.”

The masks feature artwork from several Indigenous artists, and have been distributed to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students in elementary schools across the district.
