With one-time funding from the federal government, Chatham-Kent is going to spend almost $6.2 million on a variety of projects.
Chatham-Kent council approved the spending at Monday night’s online council meeting.
The money is to be used specifically for infrastructure that reduces or eliminates long-term impacts and risks associated with natural disasters or recreational infrastructure projects.
The funding includes $5 million for Lake Erie shoreline improvements, $1 million for the CASO trail in Ridgetown, and $120,000 for a trail in Wheatley.
