Chatham-Kent Council will likely spend just over a quarter million dollars for infrastructure improvements that are needed to be put in place for the go-ahead for a Wallaceburg building development.
Council is likely going to approve a bid tonight to spend $254,000 for infrastructure improvements along Lisgar and Elizabeth Streets in Wallaceburg.
Last year, council approved a draft plan for a subdivision located in the area on the former site of the W.T. Laing Public School, which is bordered on two sides by Elizabeth and Lisgar Streets.
Upgrades and improvements to the infrastructure are needed to accommodate the development of the former school site.
If approved, the work is expected to start this year and be completed sometime in 2024.
