A local cannabis manufacturer is growing more than just plants.

Medisun, based just outside of Grande Pointe, is hoping to bring more jobs to Chatham-Kent and expand its international reach through a partnership with Australia-based Cannim Group.

Medisun founder Art Caron says the two companies are a perfect match.

“In this vast growing and challenging industry, Medisun continues to champion high quality standard cannabis at large scale production focusing solely on wholesale partnerships. During which time we have had the honour to work with some amazing companies but one in particular that stood out to us,” Caron explains. “Focusing on the safety, science and scale production of cannabis, Cannim Group is a family founded corporation with the same values in why we started Medisun.”

“Our partnership with Cannim opens so many doors and upcoming career opportunities for Chatham-Kent. We couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity to grow, give back to the community and put us on the map from a global stand point,” said Shay Donati, Marketing Manager from Medisun.

Municipal officials are also hailing the merger as a boon for Chatham-Kent’s agriculture industry.

“We’re thrilled to see yet another Chatham-Kent agricultural business growing to better serve the people of CK and beyond,” Mayor Darrin Canniff says.
