An intersection in south Chatham will be under construction for the next three months.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has hired Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. to complete intersection improvements at Park Avenue East and Sass Road beginning this week.
The work will include installation of a new traffic signal, road widenings to accommodate turn lanes, new curb and sidewalk installations, street lighting improvements, pavement resurfacing and site restoration.
Park Avenue East and Creek Road will remain open to traffic during construction, however, Sass Road will be closed for a portion of the project. Access to all businesses near the intersection will remain open at all times.
Completion of construction is expected in December 2026, with final restoration completed in spring 2027.
