An arrest has been made after an intoxicated man physically lashed out at paramedics who had come to his aid.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to Coverdale Street in Chatham on Tuesday at around 11:23 a.m., after receiving a report about an unconscious man in the area.

Officers arrived and located the man who appeared to be under the influence. While receiving medical attention, the man began to act out erratically by trying to grab and bite paramedics and refusing to obey commands.

No one was injured during the incident.

As a result, a 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with breaching the peace. He was held until sober and later released from custody.
