Investigators Probe Cause Of Chatham House Fire

An investigation is ongoing following a house fire in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue was called to the home at 196 Grand Avenue West at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday and quickly extinguished the blaze.

The fire was contained to the house, and it did not cause any damage to neighbouring properties, fire officials said. An estimated cost of the fire damage has not been released.

The home was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has attended the scene, however, the cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
