Investing in Wallaceburg’s Water

Wallaceburg’s Wastewater Plant is getting an upgrade.

PUC General Manager Tim Sunderland says the upgrade is thanks for the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.

“The Wallaceburg Water Pollution Control Plant’s going to be receiving $250,000 for upgrades, Sunderland says. “We’re going to be replacing two screw pumps and controls, we’re going to replace them with three dry-pit centrifugal pumps to improve performance.”

Sunderland says the pumps operate every day, 365 days a year, and are now 26 years old.

The funds for repairs come through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.

The project started in July and should be completed by March.
