A long-awaited financial report from last fall’s International Plowing Match and Rural Expo will be discussed in council chambers Monday night.
The report shows the overall municipal cost of the massive week-long event was just under $912,000, although once you take out sponsorship and in-kind donations, the numbers are closer to $580,000.
That’s actually below the original estimate.
For that investment, about 77,000 people attended the September event, despite the rain day.
The estimated economic spinoff is about $3-million.
