The International Plowing Committee is receiving $100,000 from the Municipality to hire an organizer.
The staffer will help market and promote the event, and in turn, help drive tourism to Chatham-Kent.
Co-Chair Leon LeClair says they have everything in place for this employee to get started.
“We have a trailer that we’ve purchased with souvenirs and memorabilia from Chatham-Kent and from the IPM that we will be showcasing at other venues,” LeClair says. “We have a car donated to us, that’ll be their vehicle to use for functions when we’re promoting the IPM.”
There are also over 1200 volunteers donating their time and skills the event, which will be held in September, 2018.
