Organizers of the International Plowing Match are paying back a big loan.

Co-treasurer William Bishop says the event wouldn’t have been possible without some cash flow from the municipality.

“We received a loan from the municipality in 2014 for $60,000, and basically that was to help us start out and give us an injection to help with cash flow in the beginning,” Bishop says. “Once we got to a point where we  were financially stable, we were able to repay that loan that they so generously gave us.”

Bishop says they were able to pay back the loan more than a month before the event.

The International Plowing Match starts on September 18th in Pain Court.
