The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is fast approaching, and organizers and volunteers are welcoming the public to the new IPM headquarters.
Event coordinator Allison Terfloth says the space includes a store with souvenirs and information about how to volunteer.
“There are some offices out there, we have a meeting area so we don’t have to move around as much, it’s about getting the word out,” Terfloth explains.
The office, open select hours for now, is located at 934 Richmond Street, just east of Bloomfield in Chatham.
In the meantime, members of the IPM Committee are promoting the massive event at the London Farm Show this week, then heading further east for the Ottawa Valley Farm Show next week.
The Municipality is contributing $200,000 toward a showcase tent, which will be used to promote Chatham-Kent to the estimated 100,000 visitors at the event.
