You could call it a preemptive strike on the part of the local organizers of the International Plowing Match set for Chatham-Kent next month, but they are doing a little cross border selling.
A delegation is attending the AgroExpo in Saint Johns, Michigan today to spread the word.
Richard Vivian handles marketing and communications for the Plowman’s Association, and says despite all the saber-rattling in Washington and Ottawa, that doesn’t mean stay away.
“Politics and one thing and rural living and agriculture, while they are connected is something totally different,” Vivian says. “Just because the politicians are squabbling right now doesn’t mean those of us in the agriculture community need to be as well.”
He says they have taken a booth at the event in Michigan to make sure our friends to the South make the trip north next month.
