All eyes will be on the floor of the Legislature this afternoon as Finance Minister Rod Phillips rises to deliver the tory government’s first budget in a while.

The pandemic has obviously effected everything and will have a huge impact on the fiscal document.

In place of a spring budget they did release a financial statement but the projections have been off.

The original estimate of the cost if COVID-19 was $17 billion. That’s now been increased to $30 billion.

Likewise the budget shortfall was pegged at $20.5 billion. That was just a little bit of. It has been revised to $38.5 billion.

Premier Ford says the number one priority of this document will be to get Ontario businesses back up and running and Ontario families back on their feet.
